How long has LiveTrain been providing IT Training?

Why do I need to become certified?

By obtaining your certification you can provide recognised proof of your professional achievements. Being certified validates that the holder has reached a level of competence that is accepted and valued by the industry. These credentials enhance job opportunities, as some employers require certification as a condition of employment or for advancement opportunities. If you are self-employed, being certified will boost customer confidence and provide you with a larger customer base.

Can I study whilst working?

LiveTrain programmes are delivered via online tutor supported self study courses, so you can study at home and manage studies around work and other personal commitments.

Are the Certifications Recognised Qualifications?

The Certifications we offer are Vendor specific. We concentrate primarily on Cisco and Microsoft. These companies dominate 90% of all hardware and software in companies all round the world. It means that most career opportunities is centred on mastering Cisco and Microsoft technologies. Exams widely recognised qualifications in the IT industry not only in the UK but also internationally. Exams are those published and recognised by Microsoft or the relevant Certifying organisation.

Do I need a computer and Internet access for the course?

Yes. Our courses are delivered online. So you will need to access to broadband and computer access. If you do not have broadband then can provide training on CD-ROMs

Are exams included in my course fees?

No. You can take your exams at anytime. This means you should only pay for your exams when are ready to take your exams. Other companies include exam fees as part of their course package. This makes their courses very expensive, plus you are giving them free money. Rather than paying for your exams, your exam fees are sitting in their back accounts earning them interest. For example Microsoft exam fees are £88 each. There are 8 MCSE exams. That sort of money is better off staying in your back account rather than earning interest for someone else.

After I have studied for the certification, where can I take the tests and how much do they cost?

Can I retake the exams if I do not pass first time?

Yes. If a student is unsuccessful in passing an exam, then the exam body will let you retake. Comptia policy between exam retakes is 2 weeks, Cisco is 5 days and Microsoft is 5 days. Your exam fees are covered by our Certification Pass Guarantee whereby IF within 180 days of purchase, you fail any certification exam twice after you have completed our training material for that exam, simply send or fax us the test results and a refund will be promptly issued for the entire cost of the course exams.

How much time do I need to devote to training?

LiveTrain expects that once a student begins a training course they will commit to a minimum of 6 hours per week. Most of our student's study anywhere between 6 and 15 hours per week. This will largely depend on a student's individual circumstances and on how quickly they wish to complete the course.

Where do I study?

Provided you have access to the Internet, you are relatively free to study anywhere. Ideally you will require a quiet location and - if studying at home - a room away from distractions or disturbance would be most suitable. As we provide material that can be printed, you do have the option to work away from your computer.

Are there many job vacancies in the IT industry?

Thousands of job vacancies are advertised literally every day on jobsites across the Internet by employers and specialist recruitment agencies. A LiveTrain adviser can explain how they can help you find a suitable vacancy.

What happens if the industry's certification tests change?

When a certification test changes and LiveTrain produces an upgrade for the certification program, we offer our previous customers free upgrades on within their subscription. You do not have to do anything. These upgrades do not include the textbooks, but LiveTrain does offer these packages at substantially reduced prices.

What if I have a question about the course material or content?

All of our courses include one year of unlimited technical support and live mentor tutor support. You can email our certified technical support personnel who will answer any question you have about your training program and also use our live mentor service to talk to your tutor 1-to-1.

What about hands-on practical lessons?

Our self-study courses include Live Labs for Microsoft, Cisco and Certified Internet Webmaster courses to build skills in a genuine environment.
